Rocky Boots
The Rocky Boot Company was "officially" branded in 1979, but it initially began as a small family-run business over 80 years ago by two brothers: William and Mike Brooks. Back in 1932 they decided to settle down in SE Ohio and start a shoe factory during the Great Depression.
It was there that they created such durable, high quality footwear, that they wound up supplying over a million pairs of tactical duty boots and shoes to the U.S. Military during WWII and during the Korean War. The brothers worked hard to produce new fabrics and technologies over the years, such as engineering the durable Codura Fabric back in 1989.
In 1993, Mike Brooks took the Rocky Boot Company public, noting that he has truly lived the American Dream thanks to the solid work ethic behind his Rocky Brand.
Rocky continues to be an innovative, driving force in the footwear industry today. Still based in Ohio, Rocky has grown into a worldwide leader of Military and Police Duty & Tactical Boots, and top-of-the-line Hunting Boots.
