How to care for your new boots and shoes.

Your shoes and boots are a stylish investment. Here are some important steps to keeping them that way.

Treat your leather boots and shoes as you would your skin. Shoes and boots require attention to keep them prestine. The four steps to keep your boots and shoes looking new are: Clean, Condition, Polish, & Protect.

Removing dust and dirt is essential to leather's longevity. Wiping your boots and shoes often with a damp cloth can prevent dirt and dust from grinding away at the fibers that make leather strong and durable.

Your boots and shoes should be clean and dry to allow the leather conditioner to properly bond with the leather keeping it soft and pliable. Lanolin based conditioners are the most effective. Over conditioning can cause the leather to prematurely dry out.

Use a cream based polish to refresh your boots and shoes. This will cover scratches and give a glossy finish. Only boots and shoes that have a finish can be polished.

A non-silicone protector will help protect your boots and shoes from water and stains.
