Florsheim Shoes are a global leader in the footwear industry. They are known around the world for producing trend-setting styles of shoes, along with shoes made with classic styling. Right from the start, they have created shoes with a unique twist. Way back in 1926 they were the first shoemakers to create square-toe shoes.
The Florsheim Shoe Company was started in Chicago factory back in 1892 by Milton Florsheim and he opened retail stores to begin to sell his footwear to the public. Florsheim shoes became popular because they were crafted with the highest quality materials and with a meticulous attention to detail.
During World War I Florsheim supplied army boots to American soldiers, and also supplied boots to American troops during World War II.

Through their sustainability efforts, Florsheim strives to leave the smallest carbon footprint possible by reducing any impact their factories may have on the environment. They set chemical standards for use in their shoe production and they have increased their use of eco-friendly bio-based materials. They have partnered with factories that have environmental certifications and that will adhere to restrictions on the use of hazardous chemicals.
Since the transportation of footwear products pose the most significant environmental hazard, Florsheim changed from shipping boxes and cartons to 100% recyclable shrink wrap.
